Stay Away From The Money Mule
According to a new report, while many people may be eager to search for a job in these tough monetary situations, failing to verify the authenticity of their employer could put their finances under pressure.
APACS revealed that the UK payments industry regulator, fraudsters in a large number are planning to target unwitting consumers by aiming to acquire dirty money into other countries without informing the authorities. It justified that there has been an extensive gain in the number of money mule job advertisements, where people are drawn by a proposal to grab the cash easily to add on their income. However, the people are not informed about the involvement of job in breaking the law.
After accepting such offer, consumers receive money in their bank account which is to be withdrawn and sent via money transfer to a recipient in another country. APACS warned that in doing so, consumers are acting in contravention to laws governing the way money is transferred and it may put the people in severe condition or some strict action would be taken against them. This critical situation can be solved by applying for a payday loan. This loan provides financial assistance to the borrowers to meet with expenditures like mortgage payments, credit cards bills and other utility bills.
As such, the group recommended the consumers to carefully deal with any offer of work they receive via unsolicited email, on websites or even advertisements appearing in newspapers. All such media are used by fraudsters to spread out these offers, which commonly target specific audiences, such as parents who are planning to increase their income to look after their family well.
For those who are under pressure with their current income and are looking forward to increase their income legitimately, taking out a personal loan may provide an effective way to manage their all financial commitments on time without fail.
Sandra Quinn, director of communications at APACS, commented: "Offenders are clearly not giving up and are looking forward to new and more sophisticated methods of transferring fraudulent funds out of this country. We recommended the consumers to be careful about any unsolicited offers or opportunities offering the chance to make some easy money."
